Turkey Wing Confit
April 15, 2022
Now this was probably one of the easiest recipes I’ve made! I love it because it required minimal prep work and you can cook this nice and slow.
Confit simply means to slowly cook a meat in it’s own fat (e.g. - Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Duck Fat, Chicken Fat)
I love making confit inspired meals because the cooking process allows the meat to slowly cook and absorb all that flavor and in turn comes out falling off the bone!!!!
Last night I made Turkey Wing Confit and I submerged the Turkey Wings in Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Onions, Fresh Garlic, Thyme, Rosemary, and Bay Leaves. These wings were falling off the bone after 4 hours!
Give these a try next time you need a family dinner recipe. Let me know how it turns out!
As always, until next time….Peace & Love Wade’s Cuisine Fam!

Ingredients
Turkey Wings
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Fresh Garlic (cut into halves)
Fresh Rosemary, Thyme, and Bay Leaves
(1) Medium Sweet Onion (cut into halves)
Fresh Parsley for garnish (optional)
SPICES:
Kosher Salt
Salt Free Cajun Seasoning
Black Pepper
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Poultry Seasoning
Paprika
Crushed Red Pepper
Instructions:
Pre-heat oven to 275 degrees.
Safely clean turkey wings with water, white distilled vinegar and lemon juice.
Pat turkey wings completely dry with a paper towel to remove any moisture. Place into a large mixing bowl once finished.
Drizzle a few tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil on top of the Turkey Wings.
Season Turkey Wings with the “Spices” listed above. Mix until well combined.
Add your Turkey Wings, sweet onions, along with your fresh herbs (minus the fresh parsley) to a large Dutch Oven Pan or whichever oven safe dish you have. Submerge the Turkey Wings three quarters of the way with EVOO. (Tip - Leave some room in your dutch oven, your turkey wings should still be slightly exposed)
Cook Turkey Wings for 4 hours or until fork tender. (Tip - if you want a crispier turkey wing, remove the wings from your pan and place them on a sheet pan with parchment paper and broil them for a QUICK minute or two. Do not walk away from the oven!).
Once finished, serve with your favorite side dishes.
Garnish with fresh parsley (optional).
Serve and enjoy!
